Damian Illing, MD, is a fellowship-trained hand, upper extremity, and peripheral nerve surgeon on the team at Utah Orthopaedics. Dr. Illing is very excited to return to where he completed residency and to provide care to the community of Ogden, Utah. 

Dr. Illing was born and raised near Denver, Colorado. After his undergraduate, business, public health, and medical training in his home state, he relocated to Utah to complete his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the University of Utah Health in 2020. 

In residency, he found a passion for the complexities and rewarding outcomes of hand surgery and returned to the University of Colorado to complete his Orthopaedic Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery fellowship. Dr. Illing finds the complex anatomy of the hand a masterpiece of form and function and enjoys the ability to incorporate aspects of many orthopaedic subspecialties like trauma, arthroscopy, joint replacement, and microvascular surgery into his practice. 

As an avid outdoorsman, Dr. Illing now sees Utah as his home. He enjoys skiing, whitewater kayaking, camping, ice hockey, and spending time with family and friends. He looks forward to meeting you and helping you get back to your best life by returning your hands to optimal function.
